Hi all
I was chatting to a collegue at work regarding the NZ 2l touring car championship and we got talking about the 2 Castrol Toyota coronas and their whereabouts nowadays. After they ran in Castrol colours I believe they were black with lynx sponsorship. Can anyone remember these cars and where are they now. Please note these are not the btcc spec cars that Julian bailey and James Kaye ran at Wellington but the 2 NZ built cars. Can you please help with any information.
Many thanks

I have a list of the Corona's at home and will look it up tonight.
Several Corona's are owned by Andrew McKenzie ex of Albany Toyota. Hayden drives one of the Castrol cars in historic events like the NZFMR in January.

Lamont car Austin McKinley Christchurch
Kerr car Andrew McKenzie Auckland
Brink car Andrew McKenzie Auckland

Brilliant photos, thanks for that. I found some more info regarding the build of these cars. Dave Cook had a lot do with it and also Campbell Little was involved with the build. Good to see it still in original colours. Would love to see this car in action again.

I'd like to know where the Alfa 155's got to? I was a rabid Alfa touring car fan over that period, no doubt helped by their rampant successes of the BTCC at the time... a very young and impressionable Alfisti mind you, being immersed in a family of Alfa nuts.

I had a drive of one of the alfas back in those days, bedding breaks in down in Canterbury. They are a nice car for sure.

Ted Jarvis and myself were getting two works Alpas built in the early 90's to run in the NZ Touring Car Series. All under the Alzura Motors Banner. They were the National Importer of them....Nek minit...Croaky Crichton bought Azura Motors and canned the Motorsport division in favour of monies into his offshore sailing campaign. Bugger. Kind regards, Tony Rutherford.

Have seen one of the original NZ touring Car 155 Alfas recently;...cant remember where. They were driven primarily by Ashley Stitchbury and Owen Evans...but did experience quite a few problems as I remember. I also wonder where the Telstars of Arkell and Radisich are now? Last I saw was they were on Targa a few years ago as camera cars...
