This is fantastic! There isn't a lot of video footage of the Historic Trans-Am group out there, so this is a neat find. This is from the 6th and final event for Historic Trans-Am for 2013, held on September 6-8. This category is open only to cars that competed in the SCCA Trans-Am series from 1966 - 1972, and the cars must be presented as they raced in period. Some amazing cars and incredible history in here. These enthusiasts don't have a championship and they don't race for points, they just bring these significant cars out to run at selected events each year, so race fans can enjoy seeing them run. That said, they do get these cars going really well, and you can see how hard they are trying!

Turn up the sound and enjoy.

I note that the clip is nearly 25 minutes long - obviously not a 6 or 8 lapper. Would take a bit of stamina.

Note Ken Epsman in the AMC Javelin (in car footage) he drives most of the time with just his finger tips.

That is real good. Those fit young fellas putting those truly real historic cars through there paces. Bet that keeps those boys young.
The year of the car is about the age of the drivers, awesome.

What a collection of history in cars and people involved.

Note the in car shots, only the Penske Camaro (roof camera) has back of bonnet down, others have a nice gap (discussed on another thread)

As you note Mike, Ken Epsman has right hand firmly on wheel but just steadies wheel with fingers of left hand, have seen this before with a few drivers seems to be if you need to grab a hand full in a hurry your hand is free and also shows a very well set up car if you do not have to wrestle it.
