I need help..!!
I am planning to move from Baltimore MD back to Auck NZ.
The shipping agent I contacted tells me that I CANNOT ship a part restored vehicle, packed in the same container with related spare parts AND a small amount of house-hold items.
Anyone else ever run into this?
Any help, advice, contacts will be appreciated
Thanks

Hi Neville, I deal with Paul Stitchbury at CFR Line in Auckland. He works with West Coast Shipping, and I've found them excellent to work with. Paul's email is: paul@cfrline.co.nz

Hi Neville,
You should be able to consolidate ship household and personal car/ parts. You could also try:

Kiwi Shipping,

Buena Park, CA 90620-1017
Phone +1 562 246 6621

Yes I had Phil Gibbs arrange for my 1972 Mini to be shipped back from Auckland to California in 2003 when he worked for Jas Jenners.
Excellent service, we had piled that Mini with my son's wood shop school projects, spare outdoor crutches for Judy plus my stuff and it all came through unscathed. The car was picked up at Long Beach harbor and flat bedded to Los Olivos by a tow company whose owner had gone to school with my sister-in-law and all he wanted for payment was a cup of tea and some of Judy's homemade biscuits.
So all in all it was a very satisfying experience and I hope you will have the same Neville.

Thanks a million guys....I now have three contacts and that's three more than I had previously. Numerous 'phone calls and e/mails to Baltimore-based shippers AND US Customs have all gone un-answered.....it's been a most frustrating exercise
Again..many thanks

I had a similar problem when I was preparing to ship my motorcycle back to Auckland. It was completely stripped and in boxes. They told me if I brought it into the country in pieces I'd never be able to finish rebuilding it and register it as a bike, and would only be able to use the parts to fix other bikes. So I threw it together loosely so it was complete and brought it in. Anyway now I'm taking it back overseas again, having never registered it here because they wanted me to drill the frame to rivet a new NZTA Vin number plate onto it because the factory chassis number isn't good enough any more. I'm not drilling the frame, so the country loses another very rare and valuable piece of machinery.
