Years ago we'd all be at or heading for Baypark for the Easter meeting. How times change and how I, along with many others, miss the "good old days".
In the UK, it was Mallory Park - and for most public holidays.

Went to Baypark a couple of times in the 1970's - not sure if the Easter or Christmas / New Year meeting..
The First meeting Programme, and as we know the event was postponed because of the weather into early December .. see stamp on the Programme [ December 3rd ].

No bikes at the first meeting but they were there three weeks later on December 30, 1967. There was a 10-lap Junior Grand Prix and a 10-lap Senior Grand Prix for the Open Bay of Plenty Championship

" jw " Was in our local Library at Omokoroa Western Bay of Plenty Council today to collect a book that one of the guys who works there was repairing for me .
He was interested in the book " Up to Speed " the Ron Roycroft story and mentioned his Father use to grass track Race and also Hill Climb in a car 1960's 1970's and his Uncle is Cliff Kingston a Motorcycle Racer who entered events in the Bay in the 1960's - 1970's.
Cliff Kingston was the NZACU Road Race Championship 250 cc Winner in the 1967 - 68 Season.
In a publication about Tauranga Motorcycle Club he is mentioned as one of the " Notable Champions and Titleholders " which includes Dixie Dean Ken Mudford [ off Waiheke TT races fame ] Andrew Scrivener and others.

The photo led me to a series of photos of the Glenvale 100 at Baypark in 1970. and a certain Jim Palmer with Brian Scobie and others.

More photos from the event will post on another thread about Baypark - when I re-find it.

In Matamata on the weekend and needed some cheap stuff from a " Dollar / $2 " shop for the house.
in the " Dollar Store " on Broadway, Matamata there are huge range of Tin signs, - reproduction - Magnets, Petrol and Car Logo signs and magnets - all sorts of Motoring memorabilia.
In the front window was this.

Wonder if " Allan " was at the meeting.
I attended several meetings at Baypark in the 1968 early 1970's period but cannot remember which ones.
Didn't buy the sign at $35 but did get a couple of " Pegasus " Magnets, one a " Mobilgas " and other " Pegasus Motor Oil "
They will go with my 1950s sign " PLUME " with the Pegasus - Flying Horse on it.

This is the list of events at that meeting.
Sorry but I am not allowed to add that attachment.
I'm about ready to give up on this site.

When I try to add an attachment I am told I do not have permission to perform that action.
After being locked out for months this is almost the last straw.

Milan,
Hopefully " Psopho " [ Nic Hart ] or Steve Holmes can fix that for you.
You may need to Log Out fully and Log In again
- I had issues when the site reappeared a couple of weeks ago and had to do just that. I have saved my " Log -in " so when I open TRS I am set up to be automatically logged in.
At times though need to Log in again as can only " View " the site.

Have just been messaging Steve and he's given the go ahead to upgrading the site which will resolve the issues we've all been having. I'll communicate more details in due course once we have the plan in place but something to look forward to.
I have a test site up and running showing the upgraded forum if anyone would like to try it out. Private message me here or on Facebook.
Cheers,
Nic
