Thought this may be of interest.

The logistical problems of tar sealing a road on this angle are enormous.

The operators are tied to the machines because you cannot stand on a 45 degree angle.

The sealer is tethered to a bulldozer to stop it sliding down the slope.

A huge project and very difficult conditions.

Now you can get a feel of just how fast these cars are going just to stay on the slope.

Not only is this a true engineering project feat, but will give you better perspective of the pitch of the track itself.

Neat photos Rod! Whats even more amazing is that the track was built in the 1950s, and opened in 1959. Imagine the herculean effort it took to build it with the modest technology available at the time.
