What was the origins of the Steve Elliott Escort V8? A pink thing from memory. Never seemed to do more than 2 laps at Puke before overheating. I noticed in the Video of the race at Puke in 89.

It was V6 Buick powered, It did not overheat at Manfield as on the first lap he had a big lose onto the dirt on outside of the sweeper onto front and kept boot in it and careered across the track and T-Boned John Learmonth in the Monaro. It always suffered from overheating for some reason (lack of air to radiator would have been were i would have started) I think after nudge Steve gave it away.

i have just read most of the ten tenths 320 thread in it there are links to oz website and info on all the Oz JPS cars and 1 of the Busby cars is full space frame and 1 is steel shell car both built by bmw factory
cars raced in USA in IMSA 78 79 ish then sold to Oz and later went back to USA and germany via the UK
there was also a bmw in Oz built in conjunction with Frank Gardner car was eventually broken up parts sold off and the shell was eventually scrapped
thread is 22 pages worth and i read it backwards made more sense to me than reading forward
I often read yr threads here backwards last to first page more educational at times

Do you know much of its history? Looks like its still wearing the original paint. Its painted in works colours, but its bodywork looks different to the works cars of 1978, which seems to be the only year these cars had turbos and this paint scheme:http://homepage.mac.com/frank_de_jong/Pages/1978%20DRM.html

The car had Canadian stickers on it when I saw it at Whenuapai 15 years ago so I wondered if it was one of the McLaren IMSA cars. Perhaps a sister car to this one, http://www.finecars.cc/en/detail/car/7311/index.html , although the bodywork is a bit different to this also.

Edit: I've had read through some of the ten-tenths thread mentioned above and the history of the car is outlined in Post #128 here: http://www.ten-tenths.com/forum/showthread.php?t=75912&page=9

As posted by Bry3500 on the Sandown 1000 thread. What happened to the 3 Aussie BMWs that raced in sports sedans in the 80s?

1) Craven Mild 318i. LHD Floorpanned Turbo Built by Jim Busby to IMSA specs in the USA. Brought out here in early 1980 and made its debut in Rd3 of the Australian Sports Sedan Championship at Amaroo Park with Gricey at the wheel. Raced through 1980. Did not re appear until the 1982 Championship Rd6 with Jim Richards at the wheel under JPS colours. Car now had the boxed guards. This car then ended up being purchased by Molloy and raced by Chris Hones before being passed on to Robin Doherty and then I think on to Rob Burns. It was then sold onto the US. Car is now in Germany or England.

2) JPS 318i. RHD Space frame. Made its debut at Rd1 of the Better Brakes 3.5 series at Amaroo Park in 1981 with Gricey at the wheel under JPS colours. Raced throughout 1981 in the Championship before being sold to Bruce Lynton for 1982 season and then John Brigss for the 1983 season. It was then raced by Grant Munday and then to Richard Gartner. Richard put a rotary in it and raced it in the NSW state series with a black colour scheme. The car ended up in Thailand and apparently is now in New Zealand.

3) JPS IMSA 320i. LHD Floorpanned Jim Busby built car. Was used as show/spares car. Did not race until the WSC in 1984 with Richards at the wheel. Was a naturally aspirated 2L F2 engine. This was sold onto Molloy whith Chris Hones at the wheel before being raced by Ludwig Finnaur with a sky blue paint scheme as he got his CAMS license. It was then further raced by Chris Hones before being passed on to a Rob Shiel? The car in now in Germany or England?

Three BMW's that raced in the day.
I'm not sure about the Gurney car, did John briggs drive it at some stage?

Timbo, those are great! The Gurney car, I'm almost certain, would be the Grice/Craven Mild machine, that later went to Bruce Lynton, then John Briggs? Lynton raced it in 1982, then Briggs had it the following year.

My In Laws are family friends of Ian Knight and they have tracked him down at the Southport Yacht Club here on the Gold Coast where they had tea and bickies with him on Thursday. The Mother In Law passed on to me that he has just sold his Corvette and that the new owner will be running it at Willowbank in the Sprint series starting tomorrow (Sunday). She told Ian about this forum and he is supposedly keen to check it out so heres hoping he can supply more info on the missing escort. He was apparently going to make some calls before joining in here in order to track it down.

Hi Rod
I can't shine to much light on what happened to the old escort after I sold it. I can't even remember who I sold it to, but I believe the V8 came out and was replaced with a 2lt Ford. I'll try and dig out some old pictures. Unfortunately we have lost a lot of old photos whilst in storage so fingers crossed.
Just joined up today and have managed to spend several hours browsing. Very reminiscent, great site and will continue to go on from time to time to see what else has been uncovered.
Regards

Great to hear from you Ian, been a couple of years (about 20 plus). The Corvette you just sold was it the old girl you ran here. That was another bit of good gear. Wasn't the Escort red when you ran it. Be good to see some photos of it and also the Corvette. Hope all is good with you and if we come over some time will give you a catch up. Cheers
PS still got my little Escort.

Hi Rod
Yes the Escort was red when I ran it with a 302 chev. I bought her off a friend Pete Hustler minus engine and transmission. Yes, sadly the corvette I just sold was my old girl that I use to race, but she has gone to a great home here in Queensland, in fact I am going out to Queensland Raceway today to see her run for the first time with the new owner. The new owner Matt is a great guy, and he actually saw her run at Pukekohe when he was a boy. His dad has flown over from Auckland for the weekend just for this. I will be telling him about this site today, I'm sure he will find this as interesting as I do.
Rod, it would be great to catch up if you ever come over - we have a spare cabin on the boat!!
Best regards
PS still working on some pics to post

Ian, it is amazing how you forget about things and people from way back when you loose contact, but thanks to this forum contact is back and so are some of the great memories. Re the Corvette, Bet it was hard to part with the old girl, you had her for a long time and it was a pretty car and quick as well. Remembering the escort and Peter as well. The Escort had some history and we were trying to put bits together a while back. I think Peter got it from John Scott.
Hunt out those photos.
Coming over to Philip Island in March for meeting, helping Brett Willis with the F5000 Lola, thats good fun.

Hey you two.....cut that out! This site is about the history of great racers and their cars....not about a couple of old timers who came second more times than most to a true champion....you two try hards were a real asset to the fields in those days.....we needed mid fielders....and yes guys....I enjoyed my motor racing but most of all I enjoyed the comradeship and fun we had that doesnt seem to be around as much these days. But boys please please dont dispair...someone has to come second...(here come those fingers Rod!) As always with respect. Kindest ever regards, Tony Rutherford.

make your eyes water all right Steve...wouldnt take off under 7,000rpm and ran up to 15,000 RPM. Belonged to a good friend of mine whom is currently enjoying some success in the open class BMW class. Took him about two years to actually take ownership under the radar and when the news hit town BMW were quite frankly bewildered that the car had slipped away from them........pity it has left the country. Tony, it was a Chev V6 engine in my Escort and the only time it overheated was at Puke with the bigger second engine that Dave Green built for me and for some reason ran a lot hotter than the smaller engine. Once sorted it was quite quick, 1.08 around Puke and 62.7 around Baypark. Had the rules not changed to suit a select few I would have continued with it, having repaired it after the Manifield crash. I sold the car less motor/box and went on to racing other classes of cars.

I Came across this thread the other night and thought that the pictures of the Mustang was still when my Dad owned and raced it, but I did not get a chance to have him take a look at the pictures until tonight and he confirmed it was him driving the car. I was fairly young at the time he was racing it but I saw the car number, and remembered he ran #33 and then 32 at one time. I remember also helping him bleed the brakes one time in this car when we lived on Lake terrace
road and I had to hang off the edge of the seat and hang on to the bottom of the steering wheel to reach the pedal :)

One of the wildest of a very wild bunch, the Ian Algie Alfetta. Note how modest the car looks in the first photo, before the huge rear wing and front spoiler appeared. But under the skin it was anything but modest, with a 5 litre V8 sat square inside the cockpit, and Ian sat where the back seat would once have been. What an exciting car, and a true example of Kiwi Ingenuity. It drew a crowd wherever it went, and still does. A real work of art and a credit to Ian's fabrication skills.

The Marina! Looks like it had its wheelbase extended? Was the rear axle moved back?

14186I recall the wheelbase being extended rearwards as a neccessity to accommodate the behind the driver mounted Leyland V8, gearbox and Jag diff/IRS.

Thanks bigbanger, thats really great info. Your explanation of this car having the engine behind the driver explains why the driver appears to sit so close to the windscreen.

I did, I built the car literally from the ground up starting in 77 or whenever the MKIV Cortina was introduced. I borrowed the W/Shop manuals off Dennis Latty @ Latty Ford , Gore. & compared the floorpan info for MK3/MKIV, they are/were both the same, then obtained a MK3 shell & removed all that was not compatible with MKIV from it, around the same time a local Vet rolled his new MKIV which was written off due to excessive panel damage & I got most of what was good of the shell & bought new roof, rear guards etc to make up balance of shell, the guards/flares you mention were made by bringing out the original arch & filling in the gaps etc then pulling a set of molds off that... molds were made in such manner that the LF could be adapted & used on RR & vice versa so I only needed two molds. Doors were made from alloy & I must confess to a minor stuff up in that dept, I did not look closely enough @ the MKIV & ended up with a bit of a 'dip' @ the B pillar rather than the straight thru of the MKIV. made mold for hood/bonnet with scoop & rolled up alloy boot lid. Same Boss 302/trans/diff from my earlier MK2 Cortina was used in this car as well.

Ahar, so it must have been YOU, Jac, that fitted that big brake limiting valve (that worked on all 4wheels) and the oversized master cylinder that required both feet on the pedal!
Poor old Rod couldn't figure out why other cars could outbrake him.

And it might continue to thicken!!! I built the car with two seperate master cyls & balance bar along with the Mustang pressure valve in the rear brake line, BUT in the pics that Anthony Prendergast has sent me of the car as purchased from Rod last year there is a photo of the empty engine bay with an extra bracket with three bolt holes that has been added in front of the original Master Cyl positions presumably for the Large master cylinder you mention. The steering column also was modified by removing the upper u-joint & replacing with an angle gear box that used a couple of mini diff side gears, I presume these mods were done to clear the space for the Chev Swap at the time. From what you describe it would appear that when the large single master cyl was fitted the brake lines got re-plumbed in the manner you describe where it worked on all four wheels, that would have made life exciting for Rodney!!!

Hi Grant , good to here from you.Yes, I remember you comimg up to my workshop in Tauranga you helped me with re designing the rear suspension. If you remember right, drive shafts acted as the top link which in turn made erratical camber change. So I had the drive shafts splined and made upper top links. Many hours later using a spirit level, I managed to achieve, with your help a proper set up. Wishing you all the best for the season. Looking forward to catching up with you sometime. When I first came to NZ, I remember well going to the Pukekohe Club circuit and noting the crowd response to Tony's car. Obviously a crowd favourite at the time.

As to him leading the field I had to smile, as at the first classic meet at Hampton Downs, Andy Culpin let me drive the Marcos LM500 in the parade to mark 50 years of Marcos, but the oil pressure warning came on and scared of wrecking an engine built out of "unobtainium", I parked it. Subsequent investigation showed that we were just travelling too slowly, stuck behind the safety car, as the warning came up at a relatively high oil pressure...

Aye, the old 'Chinamans Hill' was famous back then, Shack in his Mini into creek, a few years later Bruce into bank on outside and being told by then new wife, ' you race no more'. 2 months later a new Escort appears down Barrys Point Rd, (think wife thought Bruce was away working alot on weekends) Then it visited the then new wooden fence along the outside. Then the one you have mentioned when a handful went off inside and the rest went off outside after what i thought was a dabble of oil was deposited. Remember a dark line starting out of hairpin and then going off coming around the left hander and spinning across grass and parking backwards at bottom of grass bank, Empty pants, grab a gear and slip and slide back onto track and head off up toward 'Rothmans' (top of hill) and seeing flags and cars parked all over the place.
Short race that one. (no pun intended Jim)

ERC. Yes it was a quick Mazda and Tony drove it very well and a favorite at club curcuit, and also admired at other tracks. It was quick for a road registered car.

Hi Graeme
I'll email you some pics of my Anglia in its current state, haven't done much work on the rebuild yet but have collected some goodies.
I also have a Mk1 Cortina GT which needs a rebuild,I'll probably fix that up as a road car. In the interim might borrow the 1500 engine and front struts for the Anglebox. The series I would run in is Sportscar Vintage Racing Association which recently changed ownership. The previous organisation which ran vintage racing on the east coast tracks handy to me approved the Cortina engine on the basis that we ran those specs in NZ back in the day. However waiting to hear from the new guys whether that still stands otherwise might have to run a 1200 (and front drum brakes instead of the Cortina discs).
Thanks for the email addresses! Grant

Hi There Steve .Yes its great to be able to catch up with you lot. I was told about this site by Sid Davis, he has a porsche the same as mine, and pedals it bloody hard . Sid and his son Roger have helped me a lot in setting my car up, great guys. The class we race in is clasic trials, a great bunch. A lot of us are golden oldies, I think our average age would be about 60. Graeme Hallen has helped me a lot. Used to race with him back in the 60s. He raced a HWM sports car, He now races a Mustang and a Toyota M5. Anyhow back to the Marina. I think I last raced it at Bay Park during Easter 86 and sold it not long after to John Coulton of Hastings. He managed to blow the motor up not long after and put a chevy in it which I think stuffed the handlig up beause it was a much heavier motor. It's great catching up you. Happy new year.Cheers, G.P.

Hey Bob, thanks for that info. I read somewhere that the north American Anglia Supers ran disc brakes too but the several I know about have all got drums. The Ford info lists the 112E engine but I've only seen 109Es, mine included. But if there are Hom papers available that will be a clincher. Thanks again for that great news and cheers for New Year! Grant

Hi Grant, near the end of their life Ford evolved the use of the stronger 109E block as the production unit for not only the 1340cc engine but also to the 997cc 105E and the 1198cc 112E engine.

Thinking back about it, just about every 1966/67 Anglia that I worked on had a 109E block fitted.

We used to fit a steel centre main bearing cap as they did fracture when you stacked some numbers on as the crank could whip a wee bit with the std cap.

If you have the sump off you may just find crank identification marking indication it as a 105E, 112E or 109E unit

Mazda 1500 DOHC pistons & Isuzu Piazza Rods are just a couple of more modern alternatives for playing with these motors to stretch the capacity....that is if your class/association will not get their noses out of joint when you think outside the square. With the benefit of hindsight & progress a girdle would be more help for the main caps these days..

SVRA are good with engine regs recognising the difficulty of locating period parts. The internals are free so no problems using any of the bits you mentioned. They are more concerned about guys telling porkies about their engine capacity.

I'd like to say thanks to Jim Short for allowing me to post the following pics on here. Most of the pics appear to have been taken at the same Bay Park event, probably around 1986/87.

On the grid just prior to the start, just check both the size of the grid and the size of the crowd. And man, what a line-up of cars! Certainly one of the best fields of combined North Island Sports Sedan and South Island OSCA cars of the era. The pics are actually photos taken of photos, so are a bit grainy, but thats OK, its still awesome to see these cars.

Bob Homewoods beautiful BDG (I think?) powered Escort Sports Sedan. This lightweight car was an absolute rocket ship. Note the position of the exhaust out the side of the bodywork. This car sat VERY low! Bob still owns it, and given enough spare time, will eventually get it back out on the track.

Former hot rodder turned racer Rob Kennard, another of the leading South Island OSCA racers, in his V8 powered MkIV (with MkV grill) Cortina. This car was actually Ford powered, a bit rare back then, against mostly Chevy powered cars. My understanding is that Rob is now Sheriff of a small California town. The Cortina later went to Kim Buckley, and I believe Steve Ross might have it now? Damn thats a bright paint scheme!

The amazing Ian Algie Alfetta, with alloy centre mounted Milodin V8. One of the most radical race cars seen in New Zealand, and very quick. It ran 13" diameter Minilite wheels, which were actually wider in the rear than they were tall. Algie himself sat in the area where the back seat used to be, while the motor sat squarely in the middle of the cockpit. Gordon Burr now owns this car, and takes it out for demonstration laps at historic racing events.

Wayne Huxfords V8 Capri. This car first appeared in 1979, and raced competitively through until about 1996, by which time the landscape had changed completely, and Huxford was up against US space-frame Trans-Am cars. The Capri started life looking quite similar to how its pictured here, though without the large rear wing, and with a smaller front spoiler. Initially it was powered by the Morrand Chevy motor out of the David Oxton Begg FM5, and I think thats still the power unit shown here. Over time, to keep pace, the Capri was modified further and further, repowered, to eventually bare little resemblance to the car in the picture. To the best of my knowledge Huxford still owns it.

One of the best looking cars of the era, Brett Willis' stunning Chevy V8 powered Commodore. The workmanship of this car was incredible. Lots of beautiful hand fabricated wonder to enjoy. Note the reward position of the motor, right at the forward point of the windscreen, next to where Brett sat. This car raced for a few seasons, always at the pointy end, before Brett built a Chevy V8 powered Maxda MS6. I personally preferred the Commodore. It seems to have disappeared after he sold it, I believe Brett is trying to hunt it back down.

Another Chevy V8 Commodore, this time a South Island car, of OSCA racer Steve Vigurs. This is the car originally run by Clyde Collins for his buddy Avon Hyde in PDL colours in OSCA in the early 1980s. But I believe Clyde actually bought it as a project that had already received a lot of work before he got it? This car went through several hands, in both the South and North Islands, including Glen Jones, Grant Taylor, and, I think (?) Michael Johnson? It was eventually written off in a South Island event.

Prior to this car, Vigurs had raced another former Clyde Collins car, his old MkIII Cortina V8. He also went on to build a Chevy V8 powered Mitsubishi Celeste for OSCA. Does anyone know what happened to that car?

Long time OSCA racer Ian Munt, in his beloved Chevy V8 Capri. This car was built in Australia by Bruce Carey, and raced in early Aussie Sports Sedan events in NSW, mostly at Oran Park, in Grace Bros colours, as part of a team which also included Pete Geoghegans Super Falcon and Porsche 911. Munt bought the Capri off Carey while living in Aus, and eventually shipped it back home to Christchurch with him when he returned. The car started out fitted with quite modest wheel arch flares, but over time Munt continued its evolution, fitting box flares and trying a few different engine combos, including fuel-injection. The big rear wing sprouted up in the mid-80s. The colour scheme also changed on a regular basis, from white/orange, to silver/black, green/black as pictured here for sponsor Waterbed World, white/charcoal, and eventually back to white/orange once more. The one main-stay of the car though were the Mawer wheels, which were one of the first sets of Mawer wheels made, as Carey was good friends Dave Mawer.

Ian Munt eventually built up a very nice looking VL Commodore which featured a sort of modified TWR bodykit, but retained the Capri, and it was still in his ownership when he passed away. His son Evan raced the Capri for several more seasons, on a shoe-string budget, but eventually had to sell it, and its now owned by Keith Tunnicliffe.

Probably one of the widest cars ever to race in New Zealand, Peter Meadows' wild Chev Corvette. I believe this was a space-frame car, and this is possibly the first season Meadows raced it. It was later repainted red and black, for his sponsor at the time whom I can't recall, but for the 1989 season, was repainted white/red/blue. Meadows suffered a big shunt in the car during that 1989 season at Pukekohe, and the body was severely damaged, and I seem to recall another body was flown out from the US for the next round at Manfeild. That season ex-pat Kiwi Steve Dymand shipped an IMSA Corvette out from the US to race as part of the NZ Sports Sedan championship, albeit for no points, in preparation for an assault on the IMSA championship that year. So Kiwi's were treated to the sight of two Corvette's that season.

Meadows doesn't appear to have raced the Corvette again after that 1989 season, and in fact the car itself appears to have vanished completely. Anyone have any clues?

The Plane, the LP1, has been close to a 17 year project from scratch.

Yea remember now, Nevils, was under the stairs in entrance to think your parents place one night we dropped in, mean bit of gear. Didn't he do frame etc.

Pretty plane, had a mate I worked with who started to build one similar, composite and after 2 go's at laying up fuselage he ditched the lot, plug/frame etc.

Here is the Steve Webling Alfa. Is this the same Alfa that was the Coppertone car?

18900

Pretty sure it is.

Rod Grimwood

Ran up against the Alfa a few times Steve and sure it was the ex Coppertone car. Had some pretty good dices back then.

I think the young Webling in FF a couple of years back is his son. Pretty good little peddler like his old man.

[QUOTE=TonyG;4139]Peter Meadows Corvette - does it still exist ?
http://i448.photobucket.com/albums/qq204/TGPhotography/Scanned%20Images/img034-2.jpg

I believe not!! back in about 96 i bought the complete diff, disc to disc out of this car and fitted it to the Hoffman Mustang when i built it as it was a full floater, and its still in there!! i purchased it from Duncan Fox when he was still at Buckland Beach, he said the bare frame was in a towing yard not far way, i drove past and can remember looking thought the yard(as i drove past) and could see the skeleton of a corvette with "Meadows" above the screen!! and even thats more than i wanted to know back then!!

Hope this helps

Lyall Martin from Lyall Carpainters along with Bruce Torrance the panel beater that worked with Lyall spent a lot of hours on this body. It was cut down middle and had around a foot put in it, and Lyall painted it. I think when it was damaged in shunt with young (then) Shane Windleburn at Puke some one else did touch up. (there was a reason for this apparently, Maybe Lyall was to busy)

And here is a car I'd only ever heard about, but never actually seen. This is the Chevy Monza, raced by another of the Algie brothers. Rod, which Algie was this? Its a good looking car, but rarely seen. Looking closely, it actually appears as if it might be a road going Monza modified into a race car, rather than a tube-frame fitted with a Monza body, as most Monza race cars were. But either way, I'd love to know more about it. Where is it now?

18903

I had a good look at this car... 1992-3 One of the Algie guys lived just off West Tamaki Rd. I was living near by and heard him as he blasted up and down West Tamaki Rd. What a noise. He was working for Truesports Indy car team at the time.

Found this on the OSCA site, It is 1987 when the North boys ventured South to play.
Northern team was Ralph Mossman Viva Chev, Willis Commodore Chev, John Coulton Marina Chev and Jim Short Porsche.
Think this right.
Front is Kennard Cortina, hidden in behind is Mossman Viva then Willis Commodore, Vigurs Commodore, Munty Capri, Fisher Capri, behind is Coulton Marina (black) Shorty in Porsche and Osborne in RX

Rod Grimwood

Heres another from OSCA when some south boys visited Bay Park, Black and white back is Brian Friend Torana Chev (ex Harrington) then Aussie Fitzgerald in Porsche, Silver front is Warwick Grey Viva (Holden) then Osborne Camaro followed by Huxford Capri Chev and in the ex Bullivant Capri Chev is I think Cullinane before it went to Baker or other way round.
What year guys

My guess is December 1980 / January 1981, and Baker would be the new owner / driver

I agree re the ex-Bullivant Capri, this is Baker pictured. The Capri was fitted with McLaren wheels when Baker began racing it, which I assume could have been off the PDL Mustang. But I think you are spot on with everthing else Rod! Good spotting. Great pics !

Wow, these are amazing Ross! Some really great stuff in there. Boy what wild looking cars these were.

Be interesting to know what happened to some of these cars, such as the Brett Willis Commodore and Ralph Mossman Viva.

The Barry Algie Monaro looks good with those smaller rear bubble flares!

Couple of photos with 'Cortina t-shirt' given by Rob on trip north, just having the compulsory gum boot drink at Puke ( if you won class that was a compulsory) Mr safety car Tony Rutherford leaning on truck, my brother Mike watching and myself and Ross the entertainment officer indulging.

Other is just in pits discussing matters after running.

Loved the colour of car then and have to convince owner to put it back like that (he reckons it's gay) but that was when it was at it's best.

Apparently in Whakatane way now, so there's another hunt out job.

I still hold out hope the Willis Commodore will one day be found.

The Viva was stripped and engine and running gear used in other projects around, and nature interrupted with the shell which was unfortunately at back of yard. The engine block is still around (dummy in a build at moment) and this block can tell some stories and has been in a couple of well known cars. Will get life story right from Ralph.

There has been a pretty intense search for Commodore but believe it has been chopped and dicked with and then pulled apart and basically dumped after. I would love to see it again also, it was trick back then.

JT......John Thorby...bloody hard case critter he was....great competitor...we had lots of battles in my early years..until I leant to use single pulse turbo's as opposed to split pulse which was best for 4 cylinder cars...then he was a blur in my mirror, along with Jim in the modified VW! The yellow/black Mk 1 Cortina is my old Cortina cobra, in the hands of the original owner Jim McComb. The Comaro #17 is Bruce Jenner in the ex Coppins car.
A small side note about the Cortina. Jim told me at the time of purchase that it had the ex Fahey 289 in it, and a photo from the Shell Motor racing yearbook of c68 where Paul is looking at the engine backs this up. However, in another thread, when talking about the Kennedy Capri (which I think is the one shown here), someone spoke of putting that engine into the Capri. Confusing.
