In 2009 the Legends of Touring Cars (well their cars anyway) came to play around the street circuit on the Gold Coast.
I thought it was fitting to post this now with Bowdens Own as a sponsor of this site and most of the cars coming from their collection.

And they were back again in 2010. Thanks to the Bowden Family for bringing them alive and providing the highlight at what was for me a boring race meeting.

Thanks for posting these Tony, just awesome! The Beechey Monaro, Geoghegan Falcon, and Moffat Mustang must have sounded incredible booming along between the walls with their open pipes.

I had forgotten just how loud they could be. Bloody hard taking photos with one hand and the other pushing a finger in the ear. lol

Yeah they really are noisy. I recall standing next to the Beechey Monaro at Eastern Creek a few years ago when it was fired up. The exhaust is like a drain pipe, about one foot long that drops down behind the front wheels on either side. The noise was just intense. The crazy thing is, all race cars were this noisy once!
