Roger, I believe that Neil Doyle's car had a Corvette, not a Buick. Red played with the Olds/Buick one
The Zephyr Corvette pre-dated 66 too.
I thought it was John Riley with the Anglia Olds/Buick.

This is an article from an old NZ publication called "Classic Wheels". Its a good insight to Paul Fahay's Fastback Anglia.
I had a copy of that magazine, the publication didn't last very long which was a pity ..

My note was on the back of the picture as an Oldsmobile, which I probably took from the Race Programme which I no longer have. a mean beast anyway and seem to get uglier as it was more and more modified..Quote:

Very first photo in thread has John in Anglia near rear of photo on inside of track.
Also in that first picture is another well known driver -Graeme Park- currently working on his GPS Marina V8 for the Historic Sports Sedans.
Hes been running for a long time also, in fact hes the only one from that grid still competing , looking at these names.
Can anyone spot his blue Anglia ?
pic#6 is in colour, but cant read the numbers.
That'll be him at Paritutu with Barry Phillips.

Wow these photos take me back to my teenage years . These guys were based in a Nissan hut in Miramar Nth just sth of the entrance to the old Shell installation. I watched these two cars being built , the Anglia /Chev was called "Brutus"?, they along with Bill McPhersons FJ Holden were my introduction to full size motorsport ,me being an active slot racer at the time with Bills brother. Mr McRea was in a single car garage just around the corner in Stone St I believe it was.Quote:

I remember this car well. Johnny used to try it out down Portage road extension. I lived at the Abattoir house and used to race across the paddocks to watch along with Graeme Harvey in the Elfin. JohnnyQuote:
