ERC, Thanks for the Healey picture and the great one of Mr " NZ Buckler " Bruce Sutcliffe and one of the Bucklers hwe was connected with. Would like to borrow them both, and put the Buckler one on the UK based Buckler groups page.
Some very interesting cars in your recent posts, keep them coming !
Cheers

in post 4246. what is the big engine needing the extra intakes? Perhaps the Lotus Buick??
Car #26? Just a Lotus 15 with 2 litre engine.

2004 Pukekohe. When the Leisurertime Series as was, got too big, it was firstly split into saloons and sports/GT. Tracer saloons sponsored by Greg Bellingham, Leisuretime Sports/GTs (Geoff Bonham). However, speed differentials in both groups caused major issues hence the move to a speed group split, which was easier to manage.

I meant car #24 Ray.
Is it a bonnet protrusion - or a laurel wreath laying on the bonnet ?
That is ex-pat kiwi Roger Wills' car. Still a Lotus 15 with 1960cc engine and yes, a laurel wreath on the bonnet.
That was the last race on the Saturday at 5:50pm, but I was knackered by then (I'd been there since 7:15am and was still hobbling with a badly sprained ankle so got away before the crowds built up. Sad (for me) that every year, they have that as the final race of the day, so I have yet to catch them other than in practice and it is one of my favourite race groups.
Pics disappeared - again. Grrrrr! Reposted.
Once upon a time, you carried just 12 glass plates for the day's photography...

By 1983, the budget may have run to 2 or maybe even on occasions, 3 rolls of film.

1986 and we still had spectators enjoying the racing - with decent sized, varied grids. (Apologies if this has been posted before, but rescanned.)

The real joy of Goodwood is seeing cars we never see in NZ in action and this Frazer Nash single seater may not be a front runner, scrapping with the ERA's and Maseratis, but who cares?
Attachment 72347
Who would have thought that a humble 1928 Frazer Nash saloon would lap an Alfa Romeo? One of my absolute favourite cars of the whole weekend.

Cracked the 1 1/2 million views, by quite some margin Ray!
And a massive thank you to Steve for the opportunity to share the pics that would otherwise languish on my computer, unseen. I suppose that means it is time to make another donation to keep the site running.
I hope that what I post is in fact appreciated by casual visitors and not just the keen regulars.
The number of views is important as it ensures the retention of the MSNZ media accreditation - with the backing of the Historic Racing Club.
Pity that I haven't been able to attend NZ events recently and the loss of the monthly Caffeine & Classics which was just 10 minutes, away, still hurts. It was always not just about the cars, but catching up with other enthusiasts.
