4 x Ford Cortina GTs
Found in a shed next to a pub in South Africa Graham
More likely South Australia?
They were found behind a pub in South Africa, purchased for $15,000.00. I can't find the original Email regarding them, Rod Grimwood sent it to me around the 14 / 6 / 12.

Re the Aussie muscle cars, note how the Monaro has 4 headlights. Australian cars were assembled in South Africa for a time. The Falcon GTs were known as Fairmont GTs, the Monaro were called something like Chevrolet SS, or similar. With the values of these skyrocketing in recent years in Aus, the South African variants are finding their way into Aus for much less money.

Not a completely unknown occurrence on those West Coast beaches that can be driven on.

Hamilton's Gap Awhitu. Must have been driven there, the road access is half a kilometre away.
Interesting that the brake disc/rotor has no rust on it. Any guesses as to what it was?
I've seen similar on Ninety Mile Beach.

And bloody dangerous they are too! To people as well as cars driving along the beach.
Holden Sandman.....
What ever it is it FFF all good to the Fish Jamie
I'm impressed by your instant diagnosis with so little information. Yes, I knew it was upside down, and wondered what if anything was underneath - i.e. body or mechanical bits. A couple of West Coast high tides would probably be enough to turn a vehicle into scrap.
The black sand is Ilmenite (= Iron Titanium Oxide) - Titanium is noted for its anti-corrosion qualities, does that mean that these cars wouldn't rust as quickly as on the other coasts. Any metallurgists out there?
