It was common back in the '60s and '70s for the roundy-roundy boys to take their cars for a bit of drag racing on a quiet weekend. This is Dennis Marwood in the Rorison Camaro.

Later on Hot Rod mag did a feature on a Convertible model, very tasty on the eyes. - showing that it doesnt have to have a V8 to qualify as a Hot Rod.
This could be the same one with the hard top on.
I am sure Bruce 302 would remember.
My mate just sold one, metallic blue with black lift off hard top....a pretty car but had the usual rust issues.
