Steve,
These are excellent photos, I am on my home after spending a wonderful day at the track. I damaged my camera against a fence but I still managed to get a few shots. Would you mind if I put them on this thread even if they are not of the quality of Robyn's photos?

I wrote a Roaring Season article on this car a couple of years ago which can be viewed Here

Fantastic photos Steve - thanks. Hard to pic a fav out of that lot.
Wow! Always a treat to see cars that don't make it down here - and some that do! Great photographs.
Glad you guys are enjoying these. Here is the next batch.

This year Nissan and Datsun are the featured makes at the Rolex Reunion at Laguna Seca.
Even though it is this Mazda that greets you through the fog on the hills at the entry to the track !

This is the first time I had been to the Pre Historic Meet and it is so un-crowded, cheaper and easy to get around that I may do it again next year. I have to admit that the photos that Robyn took and Steve has entered cover everything so well and so clear.
Where does one begin ?. I will plug away but it was so annoying to mess up my small favorite camera as I hooked the lens on a fence link as I turned around. (stupid me.) I will try to name my subjects but without an official program this weekend it may be difficult.
One day at Laguna Seca. Aug. 19 2018.
Ken Hyndman.
Sorry I missed it Ken. Maybe one day...

I chose these first as the other cars get all the attention and these cars were from the beginning of the mighty Formula 5000 era.

Hi Ken, here are the entries for this weekend. I assume many of the entries from the Pre-Reunion are also included: Entries Here
Thanks Steve,
I also like to put the car number in as well and those numbers are not on that entry list but I appreciate ALL that you do.

The NZ and Australian F 5000 teams were so friendly. I am trying to do some research for Jay Bondini as he is restoring the Lola T 332 that Tony Brise drove at Long Beach and Riverside in late 1975. But the Brett Willis team were super friendly, especially Rod Grimwood who treated me like a lost brother and I wish we could have had more time together..thanks Rod, I still owe you that beer..next time mate !

I snuck in to an area I should not have, to try to capture the rolling warm up lap for the F 5000 race.
The photo quality is not great but they give an idea of what a powerful scene it was as they roared by.

There was thunder in the hills at the start of the F 5000 race. Plus the field will be even bigger next weekend including Ken Smith who was saving up for the main event.

The Shadow team must have learnt how to use duct tape from Jean-Pierre Jarier.
Here he is at Goodwood in Oct. 1973 with Robin Herd and the tape has been put to good use on the front of this March 731 F1 car.

The answer must have been the duct tape as this was the fastest Formula 5000 car at the track on this weekend. (Still the way to go 45 years later ! )
