In the meantime for Shoreboy 57, here's a photo of yours truly giving Ziggi ('they don't like it up them Mr Mannering") Brun in his 962 a hurry up at Brands some years ago....
Biggest buzz, ever, sitting in the middle of a rolling start for Group C Cars. When those lights go out, the adrenaline, the sound and vibrations are something I'll never forget.
These cars were...
Now I am throwing my Nikon away...more great photos and thanks
Brilliant pics...
Yes, warts, bangs, dents, bumps, welds and bodges and all...Rob Halliday even got underneath and pointed out his repair work from 1974...
Brilliant photos Nigel...what camera etc? (don't tell me it's your I phone or I'll throw my Nikon away). Well done anyway and thanks for posting them.
PS: to GD66: it's not a tribute car, it's...
Avoiding all the 'issues' being bandied around here, can I just make a general point?
If someone takes the time and trouble to start and run a series, they invite the cars that they want to have...
Just for the record John, I didn't "consistently not appear at the start". There were four races, I was there at the start of two and then had a puncture before the third. It was still being cured...
Thanks to all the support people who make all this possible. They did a great job even though I would rather not have been looking at the back of the towie on no less than three occasions. Not a...
Funniest story I heard about that "rogue of the rules", Tom Walkinshaw. One of the team drivers brought his Group C Jaguar XJR into the pits at the end of pre race qualifying at Le mans in 1987....
Here it is Dale. They were next to me in the pits and having a great time. Lots of power but no grip on slicks but the car was a blast. Also check out this website for the best photos I've seen yet...
thanks Ray...understood
Whoa up people...what's this stuff all about? Ray, you in particular should know me better than that.
My question was rhetorical...to which the answer is, mine anyway, who cares? It's Rod's gig,...
Back to Leadfoot. I've been following the thread and the inevitable debate about original v replica.

Apart from no brakes (we still can't work out why) and stupidly putting on new Toyos that hadn't turned a wheel, bloody fantastic. Interesting to drive up the hill with no traction and knowing you...

Yes, Steve is right of course and I should have said that non DoT treaded tyres, are also avaiable that fit cars like mine, and I'd be happy to run those as well.
Also to say that I wasn't...
Hi everyone. I'm the JD with the Halliday Escort and the race Aston Zagato (rebuild finished just last week, and will be at the Leadfoot).
Thanks to Steve for promoting this discussion here and...
Fabulous memories. I raced with Gerry for many years when he was driving the Marsh Plant lightweight DB4 and then the highly modified Marsh V8. He was in my view, and that of many others, the best...
Ok, I'll dig out some photos, get a glass of wine and a scanner, and see how it goes
From memory, the first year the group C cars were at the meeting, was 2001 and again from memory, I think my excursion there in the EMKA was 2002. I drove with Andy Shepherd, who's a great peddler...
