Let's just say it wasn't the HSS group, not the HMC group and definitely not ERC nor the Heritage Touring car group, nor the Formula Libre or any single seater group.

Nigel- I dont know who the individuals were who did this, but I will never say that it is a reflection on the whole class.
Ray- thank for this great pic showing me how neat the cars were on the day....Falcon will look just as good again soon.

#1003- the red Torana LJ GTR V8 is now on Cars for Sale section here.
Schedule K COD means that it can run at Historic meetings, and in Historic Sports Sedan class.

The gold and white Capri V8 of Rob Brerrigan- has a longer history than we thought.
Rob got it off Bob Grove who presented it as it is now, and had run it for some years.
I looked at the 3 log books today that Rob got with the car, turned out it was built in 1993 with a 5000cc V8
One owner was a B. Chambers
The late Jeff Cooley owned it was no. 79, had Dave Ward Towing on the front guard
#832 of Historic Sport Sedan thread shows it running at Taupo in 1998 with usual suspects Graham Barnes, Neil Deighton, John Learmonth, Roger Davis, my Torana V8 ,even Dale Mathers was there in my old Mustang Fastback
So here is another car from the past that disappeared and has returned.
If anyone has anymore info on this car please let me know

Ok, folks- Taupo is on April 8, 9 April.
This is our last run of Summer, put on by the Historic Racing Club.
It is called the Barry Algie Memorial meeting, with 2 races Saturday, 3 on Sunday.
All 5 are Handicap and there is the Trophy up for grabs as well.

    We have confirmed-
Gordon Burr- running his well known Escort V8, it will be worth watching his driving style
Roger Davis -returning to Taupo in the same Torana V8 after a 16 year absence .
Jon Telford - his mighty Mazda RX8 fresh from some quick running last weekend. He loves close racing
Robert Bartley- the Francevic recreation 7 litre Custaxie 2.Most visual Allcomer ever.
Graham Barnes- the most well known Capri V8 in NZ-the drivers just had some radical modification also
Adrian Dobbe- giant killing HB Viva powered by XU1 from the 70s
Darcy May- Jennifer Mossmans original Consul 315 Sports Sedan rejoining the pack after so many years
Robert Jack-Brennan built Escort V8 wanting a good meeting after early exit last week.
John Rush- Neiman built Escort Lite V8 showing rampant ,pulsating red is THE race colour
Bruce Goodwin- showing that dropping a V8 into a Z-car makes for a fun race meeting
Dennis Running- the original ex Marsh, ex Willis RX8 wants to be the quickest RX8
Graeme Park- sorted out the bugs ine the Marina and now wants the Pteradactyl to really fly.
Rob Berrgren- the ex Jeff Cooley Capri V8 returns to Taupo after almost 18 years.
Cam Neil- Allcomers started with V8 Coupes and this 20 year old veteran -car not Cam- still can head the pack.
Ivan Bevins- Craigys XBGT will finally get to stretch its big horse power legs here-will the brakes take it?
Neil Deighton- the enduring Chavenger showing it has met all these cars before and its no big deal.
Peter Hooper- a replica of the Strong Starlet Shellsports ,its all about lightness and agility.
Richard Quinn- the ex Crowe, ex French Starlet. Trevor got it right- light, agile and a real engine.
Craig Horn- Torana XU1 -its always going to be a threatening package here, especially on Craigs home track
John McKechnie- at long last the original Team Cambridge Monaro becomes a race car again.

Barrys Monaro will be there on display.

If you have a suitable car and want to run with us, please contact me.

Sports Sedans are back in Taupo at last !!!

Brilliant effort John and thanks to your hard work, a still growing class. Keep up the good work and will see you next season.

Thanks also to all entrants for bringing these great cars out to play - all of them. Just continue to enjoy it, as for my money, one of the best classes currently running in the North Island.

Thanks Ray- each of these cars is a gem truly highlighting the Sports Sedan era
Wonderful value for money spectacle of real cars actually battling it out- same as in the 70s, 80s, 90,none are show ponies or trailer queens.

Also format for Taupo next weekend-
    5 X 4 lap handicap races.
The donor of the Trophy is happy with my suggestion that The Trophy not be performance based, but, be for just being there to compete.
So after the racing on Sunday afternoon ,a member of Barrys family will pull out of a hat a number between 1 and 18 and that driver wins the Trophy for a year .It will be up for grabs annually
I wont be in the draw and Graeme Barnes is still too tender from recent events to compete.
Better percentages than lotto will give you.
