Cheers Richard. I always enjoyed watching the close racing when the family Vees were all up at Puke. Bloody good close racing. Wish I had all my old photos that got drowned. Had lots of shots of all classes coming up over the top of the hill at Puke. Ahh memories. lol

Purple Escort, front row 3rd photo in posts from club track looks like Jimmy Stone in his Gedore sponsored Escort.

Escort behind the Zap Starlet. Any ideas on who drove it ? Steve (Fullnoise68 ?) Too early for yours.

    Cheers

Red Escort could be Kirk Stoneman he ran it after Bryce, who of coarse is in Datsun.

We do know they're not taken at the NZGP because Dad has never gone to a GP. Looks like a National meeting as you can see the TVNZ outside broadcast trucks in the background on the infield. Anyway, here are the first lot.

These 2 photos are dated October 1976, at Pukekohe.

We think this is Robbie Lester with a Formula Vee.

These next ones have "Benson and Hedges Pit Lane 1984 Approx" written on the back. Are they actually 1984? Drivers names?

These are at Pukuekohe, on the Friday practice for the Benson and Hedges race. Don't know what year, but very early '80's at a guess.

This Falcon, off the number plate, is / was registered as a 1979 Ford Fairmont, cream, 4900cc, with a last known milage of 133,439 on the 4th of April 1998. So one would imagine it no longer exists, or is a permanent racer and hence not registered anymore.

Do the non-conforming red background and the tow bar suggest this might be a spectator's/sponsor's road car?

Another Pukekohe meeting, this time on the old Club Circuit. The "pits" were on the front straight on the main track, in front of the Members' Stand. Around 1987 / 1988, as I remember being in awe of the red #7 XF Falcon, as they were brand new, and I wondered how someone could afford to turn a brand new car into a race car. For some reason I remember it as coming over from Australia?
