Roger D and no 1/25's under my bed do have a couple of Drag wheels though from unmade 1939 Chev Convertibles ' still in the boxes from the 1970's with the stovebolt six, make them as standard or modified !! Revell I think.
Make them '37 Chevs, got them out recently one made as a bit of a racer with the twin carb stovebolt, the other unmade, also have a Willys flip front Gasser, also built with a huge V8 - actually went out and bought glue and some paint, am going to restore the built ones first, [ made them first in 1971 as a 20 something, had just got married and a mate married around the same time both like kitsets, the Chevs are AMT and were made in NZ, must have imported the mould from the USA ] then see if I want to do the new one plus a couple of 1990 NA model MX5's, was going to one original and one, with a V8, from a box of bits I have .. and it is still 2016 [ not 2106 ]..

** Update July 2019 - still talking / thinking about the re-build and build -left the glue and paint in Australia - have to buy some more - Now back on the bucket list !!

Chaindrive, when did it race originally, is not in the Graham Vercoe book, just checked under ACE , but is on page 245 under the RA1, article .. there is a picture of it racing in Lyttleton, against a similar looking car, in 1989 ? so guessing originally ran in the early 60's.. can scan it for you..

Well done Roger. It is a rewarding hobby. The only car I have ever regretted selling was my NA MX5. Let's see the finished articles.
    Any pics greatly appreciated.

Take a close look at the photo from Vercoe's book and the coloured photo from Hampton Downs. Is the car following the Ace3 the same car in both photos?

Would like to find a source for the Shell Racing New Zealand decals as used in late sixties/early seventies which featured Shell logo and white steering wheel on red background. They were on just about every NZ car raced in the era. I had a couple on my Lotus when I raced it in Historics. Full size or scale are ok.
