    Beach Racing Champs 1972 - Stuart V8 Special
    Stewart Quertier holding roll bar, Geoff White, Jac Mac, Mervyn Gutschlag and the late John Jeffery.
    Together that year they won the the South Island Beach race champs, Nelson Provincial Champs, the Lap record.
    and placed 2nd in the NZ champs to Peter Leversedge.

    Would that be the Crowe Ford special in the background or Charlie Bensemans # 4 ?

    Ford 8 was owned by Roger Funnell and driven by Bensemann I think

    Talking with Kelvin Brown recently. He has now sent me a series of photos of the build process of that #4 car. Kelvin built it, sold it to Roger, not sure of the link to Charlie as owner or driver. Roger did a good number of events in it himself. Another, "I wonder where that is now" cars.
    Kelvin and I were talking about a re-creation, but finding a Ford 8 would be almost the hardest part. His story of the build is a good one if anyone is interested I will type it up and get him to check it.
