Another fine driver who was to perish while driving a race car in 1971, Jo Siffert , driving here in a Porsche 908 # 1


Peter Gregg in a Porsche 911 T # 59 was another great driver who sadly took his own life in 1980.

So many in this field lost their lives at an early age. It was a dreadful period and we would often get radio reports in NZ of yet another passing.
We must be grateful for all the safety standards applied today to cars and circuits as it could not go on as it did back then.
