    1981 And 1982 B&H Endurance Series

    Does anyone have results and race reports from this series in 1981? In particular I want to know how Paul and Frank Radisich fared in their Toyota Trueno. Also, did the Radisich's race this car again in 1982?

    Plus, Kent Baigent and Graeme Bowkett raced a Celica GT in the series from 1981 - 1983. What were their results?

    Chris Radisich and Bob Pennell were entered in a Toyota Trueno Sprinter for the 1982 Series. A programme I have for the Pukekohe round has Paul Radisich written in in place of Pennell but there is no mention of him driving the car in the Motoraction report. I've just found a copy of the Unoffical Results for the Pukekohe race and C & P Radisich are listed as non-finishers on 128 laps.

    To reply to your question about the Bowkett/Baigent results.

    1981 Bay Park - ? - not in the top 10.
    1981 Manfeild - 1st
    1981 Pukekohe - 3rd

    1982 Bay Park - retired on lap 58 when 8th
    1982 Manfeild - 5th
    1982 Pukekohe - 4th
    Rod Coppins and Bruce Bellis ran a 2-litre Celica in 1982 finishing 7th at Bay Park and 10th at Manfeild.


    1983 Bay Park - retired after lap 68
    1983 Manfeild - 1st
    1983 Pukekohe - 3rd
    Baigent was partnered by Kevin McNamara this year.

    Steve and Ralph Emson ran a Trueno in 1983 with their only result being 4th at Manfeild.

    Paul just told me he also contested the 1980 B&H 500 in a Mazda 323. Would anyone happen to have results from this event?

    They finished fifth in the under 1350cc class behind three Civics and a Mirage. The first two Civics (Cherryl Parnell/Shane Murland and Grant and Ron Campbell completed 160 laps while the other three were a lap back. The provisional results below show the Campbells on 161 laps but they must have had their laps reduced to 160 in the final results.

    Just as aside I note that the 177 laps of the winners is less than 400 miles.

    The 1977 was the last B&H 1000. In 1978 it changed to the B&H Saloon Car Classic and was run for a fixed time of five and a half hours.

    Not sure which year you want to know about.

    1981 Manfeild
    Was running second to Baigent's 2-litre car before a late-race pit stop for fuel dropped it to third.

    1981 Pukekohe
    Was fifth with 55 minutes to go. Stopped to add oil but only made it round to the back straight before retiring.

    1982 Manfeild
    Late-race stop with a smoking alternator. Resumed racing but finished outside the top ten.

    1982 Pukekohe
    Were running around 9th when they stopped to add oil. Two laps later it was out of oil again and they were out.
