Pukekohe Classic Festival, the final one at Pukekohe

Whose gonna go along? Racing is friday to monday, three days of it, the festival will not die, but it will be the last one there.Waitangi weekend.
I'll be there, stuck in the Commentary box for three days, a job that I don't enjoy, but it's got to be done

Do you need someone to take over the commentary from you?

February will be the last classic bike meeting, not cars.

    End of March is cars.

For 20 or so years in January the bikes raced here [ yes I know the War stopped a couple of events ].

Drove [ well actually rode - as a passenger ] - the roads last weekend..

Not all was actually used - the little loop at Ostend was removed..
The event was Bikes only 1931 to 1950.

there's over 400 bikes entered, no room for tin tops. There will i think be a F5000 car doing a few laps as well as three brittens and four Rodger Freeth Suzuki McIntosh's too

The event was Bikes only 1931 to 1950.
the first event was in june, but it quickly went to around new year, often one race on new years eve, and one on the 2nd of january.
Also the left loop was not used in the racing. Thanks Roger for you enthusiasm.

    Motorcycle Races - Pukekohe 1963 and 2023..

jellywrestler, Nigel Watts put some pit photos of the bikes on his thread in the forum..

Seems a great weekend for the two wheelers, and presume a few 3 wheelers too !!
Yes on the inside page of the programme - the Sidecar Entrants..

Meanwhile from 1963 . One of the early Motorcycle only meetings at the " new " track that is / was " Pukekohe ".
A simple double sided sheet with the meeting details the races the entrants and notes by the guy who was there - not me.
These came from Lloyd Gleeson and I presume his notes..
