    there was talk about a nascar race track etc,is this dead and gone also.

    That was an idea floated by John Billington, Robbie Kerr and I think Chris Castle....The proposal was to use land that was basically sandhills but I have a feeling that resource consents were going to be difficult to obtain. I had forgotten about that plan...
