Steve I was lucky enough to be given it many years ago on a Video. I also have the 1967 and 1968 Benson and Hedges on Video. Black and White but no sound. Couldnt find a Benson and Hedges topic. May have to start one when I have time to download them.

Thanks Mark, cool pic. Its amazing how quickly the Allcomers progressed in just a couple of seasons from this photo.

Steve ,just looking at Red's Willys there I think that was probably one of the first moves in the change of the class
smaller and lighter ,a more streamlined shape, away back as you probably remember me commenting on here about the concept of
Dave Jollys Humber, same thing smaller ,lighter ,better suspension ,our concept was good it just needed the money to
buy a Corvette motor and a decent gearbox, things changed over that period fairly quickly

Look at all the Z-Cars count 8 in there.

True, but all Mark 11s, not a Mark 111 in sight, even though they came out in '62.
Puke opened in 1963, so the pic must be from the '63/'64 season.

PS Last year I spotted a Mark 11 200 yards off the road in a rice paddy in Bali...

Two good pics there of 55 for the Doyle-Dickie Anglia restorer. Different race meetings, different paint, different signage.....first one could be Doyle, the second obviously Dickie.....

Its my understanding the Red Dawson Willys pictured above still exists?

  14. #34
Steve, Lin Neilson in Dunedin bought the Willys off Red, took the motor out and put it in a Mk3 Zephyr. The body sat in Maitland St. behind Fairmonte Motot Court for a month or too then disappeared.

Thanks for that woody, good info. I seem to recall reading somewhere that the car actually still exists, though has spent many years sat outside and its condition has suffered.

Yes, it has been mentioned a couple of times in the recent past in NZ Hot Rod Magazine, I think Rob Campbell tracked the remains down somewhere in the deep south.
