It's not a blame thing David, it gets a little frustrating when my knowledge can't add to some of the material I have.
That's what old people are for![]()
I've had the ok to re-upload this
Interesting to see. Pretty well all the corner footage is the left hander off Hills Road to the start finish straight. Ironically because it's been bypassed by the modern road layout it's probably the only corner in it's original state.
Picked up this comment from the late David McKinney about Mairehau in the 1951 race.
The Jaguar Centre facebook page came up with these two photos recently. [ Milan Fistonic added a comment and part of the Entry List Lap Chart page from Programme for the Centennial Road Race Championship Race.
Here is Ron Roycroft in his Jaguar XK120 with race #10 - first at Mairehau.
Second photo - is it the same race.
Was looking for a suitable thread for the photos - so may share them to another thread later, as this thread is older and no recent comments [ now on the front page for a while ]..
For those interested there is a good article by Allan Dick on the events held in the 1950's at Mairehau, in Canterbury.
Programme Cover for one of the events; 1955
Here a map of the track.
both above images from Graeme Staples " jellywrestler ".

This is the entry list for the sports car race at Mairehau in 1957. McLaren, Cantwell and Mathewson were scratchings.
Ross Jensen was in the Monza Ferrari and would have had his handicap adjusted.
Car 17 is not listed but could be Ron Silvester in a 1938 Ford V8 roadster.
June Monk in her geranium TR2 managed to stay ahead of Jensen, finishing fifteen seconds before the Ferrari. McKellar was third.

Asking for a friend ; " Psopho " [ Nic Hart ] - is looking for the Programme for Mairehau 1952 Event. An actual Programme.
Have never seen it;
The only images I have are for later events, and then only the " Cover ".
Would be interested, myself, in scans of the Entry Lists - even scans of the whole Programme - Officials pages Adverts etc.
Entry Lists for all the other events I would like to have too !
