Just imported this 64 Falcon Sprint Hardtop for Taupo's Chris Anderson, he will soon be joining the ranks of Historic Muscle Cars...........that makes two early Falcon Hardtops coming to HMC, a change from all the Mustangs and Camaros, its gotta be good.

That's a fantastic base to work from. Really looking forward to seeing this on the track too.

In the on going push to keep our fleet as historic as possible we have decide that all Capris whether V6 or Perana must be on there correct production 13inch wheels as this was how they are raced historically overseas(and NZ). Before the directors made this decision we contacted the current Capri owners racing with us last season to toss this idea around and to work out a decent time frame, January 2020 was decided on. We then contacted those with Capris coming to HMC with our decision and managed to sort that out.............as from today any new builds will need to be on the correct 13 inch wheel with a maximum 8 inches wide, there are plenty of 13 inch tyre options and infact as many as in 15 inch.

Picture attached is the Seton touring Car Capri V6 on 13 inch wheels(tyres are slicks because it races in Group A/C Touring Cars) Dale M

Thank you Paul I ran a panhard rod on my mustang , it worked perfectly you might look at that if rules allow , only reason a watts linkage is because friends that run escorts said this is the way to go , plus in our rule book...

Sadly the FIA rules for the Falcon rear suspension are very limited. I can only run an extra leaf on each the rear springs, 2 shocks and that's it. So it will be real interesting to drive, also I can only run 5.5inch rims! It will be cool to race it in period... warts and all. Looking forward to seeing a grid of FIA cars.
    Cheers

Now that the Team Cambridge Monaro is finished, i will not be racing my XA Coupe any more.
I am telling everyone here, because the first hit out for HMC is in mid October -TACCOC at Hampton Downs.
If you want a ready to race CODd 633hp XA Coupe, now is the time.
Will be listing it on trademe and other places.

Price reflects all the top quality parts in it.

I think you'll find they are early Simmons racing wheels, Steve. They were used on a lot of smaller Aussie tin-tops during the 70's.

Thanks for that. Simmons have a long and interesting history, and along with Mawer were one of the founding Aussie companies manufacturing proper lightweight racing wheels. Prior to this, the wealthy teams in Australia had expensive imported American Racing, Minilite etc wheels, while the budget teams mostly had widened steel wheels.

For those who really enjoyed HMC yesterday, or want to move up the grid-dont forget that my HMC XA Coupe is for sale.
A complete beginner, who has never raced before, hadnt even driven it, was doing low 1:17 in it
That would have put it in P5 in practice yesterday
He said it was a dream to drive, probably a little heavy.
