If I remember right Keith was colour blind and could have won but got the flags mixed up or so the story went at the time

Sorry about this being Japanese. From 1976. The car would just not stay on the ground no matter what track. It was due to some trick cross ply tyres from Japan that somehow complied with the series rule that roadies must be used - not sure how the raised 'race' insignia on the tyre got buffed off but it was a lot of fun for a season until they wore out. Never got over seeing that daredevil team at Teretonga doing the whole track up on 2 wheels......Chris Read - Arrowtown.
Now that daredevil thing is a nother thing Chris. May find and show later.
GD66 think JR drove McMillan Ford car and Andrews was Brockelhurst.

I remember this well as a kid. I was standing on the grass just on the outside of the hill grandstand southern end fence close to where they ended up. I forgot to take pics while running away lol
Yep, sounds good Rodders. By the way, while I was taxing my quickly-eroding brain cell about that puzzle, I recalled that Ford dealerships in those days used to give away a monthly A4 glossy black-and-white pamphlet called something like Ford Motorsport News, which regularly featured plenty of info and pics of the latest escapades of the proddie racing GT-HOs and other branches of the sport, FF in particular. Quite a good little publication, if understandably totally biased. Ford really used to give the sport a shove along in those days.

84 it was only time she parked herself.
Start of back straight, that was when left tie rod broke (after clipping inside of track to much we think) and we turned accute left and wallopped a bloody huge tyre and did bit of damage to front. We were actually going fairly quick at this stage as just grabbed 4th and Remember hitting tyre and car bouncing through air as it did slow spin in air and looking down at marshalls running and thinking "go boys". It was after that we changed to more open front and one peace.
Great Stuff Rod. Wonder how mamy of these great little treasures got tossed out by overzealous mothers. Remember well how my mum got all zealous cleaning about two years after I joined the RNZAF and tossed my Forest Lake scrapbook and my collection of car brochures, including the complete Ford and Chrysler US ranges and a great packet from Rolls Royce in England.
