It all worked and as you can see he towed his car with it and all. Was popular for parades etc.

So did he make molds etc all from scratch? What was the cab made from? What was the chassis from? It must have been a huge amount of work. Its really impressive.

Eddie Rickenbacker (right) and Fred McCarty in Peugot racing gear. While driving for Peugeot, Rickenbacker invented a way to communicate with his riding mechanic over the roar of the engines by connecting two leather face masks together with rubber speaking tubes. While this worked well, he gave up the idea after deciding the masks were "unbearably hot and itchy." Caption reads, "Our Latest Gemini Astronauts? No, not from our next projected space flight, but from another era, the two gentlemen behind the masked are Eddie Rickenbacker (r) and Fred McCarty (l), driver and mechanic of a Peugeot race car during the 1914 Corona, Calif. road race. The use of leather face masks to protect themselves against flying pebbles necessitated the use of speaking tubes to keep in constant communication. With crash helmets and dark goggles, their appearance is truly "out of this world"."

Rod,you would be right with the car, but not the colour scheme. Barry had it always white with Byan Bell Tuning on it, think he had a racing Huskyor Cob with his name on as well.I will go out on a limb here and say that after the last race at Waikaraka Park by Barry, those there will remember Trevor Morris deliberately t boning this car and it ended up in the fence. The car had been sold prior to this race to Harvey Brewer who ran a 100E Prefect with Davies Pumps, Station Rd, Penrose on it. It was this colour scheme=green over white.,So this is the bros car, after being straightened , painted Harveys colours and going to Ranger signs to be sign written with Davie Pumps and Ranger Signs-just as we remember it. Harvey did not have the distinctive driving style of Barry-throwing it sideways halfway down the straight. So, what happened to the car and the motor with the Raymond Mays head and webers? Gerard, Rod how does this sound to you?
