    Some pics I took last month when I was at "BMW Classic" (the Motorsport museum) in Germany.

    Apfelbeck engine, 4 cylinder twin cam "radial valve" layout (inlet-exhaust-inlet-exhaust)

    first pic is an early 8x carburettor engine:


    Apfelbeck F2 engine, around 320hp from 2 litres:




    M12/7 F2 engine, also around 320hp from 2 litres :

    the legendary BMW F1 Turbo, over 1200hp from 5 bar+ boost and rocket fuel:

    Maclaren/BMW F1 V12, 600-800hp depending on spec:



    Holinger H6S cutaway (this gearbox was around over 20 years ago, and still a very good box by todays standards)
