ERC, great pics, does the Allard still belong to Rob Boult ??
Here it is at Dunedin in 1984 - Otago Daily Times photo - which I bought when down there in '84
Your photo - love the car

I never knew him, but what talent. Ferris de Joux's creations impressed me so in addition to the 1984 and 1985 Ellerslie shots, plus Whenuapai 1985, a couple of later pics.
Amazing what or who pops up in these pics. The late Geoff Manning relaxing with a coffee.
Scanner playing up again and not focussing properly at times...

Note my much loved Allegro Equipe - after a respray thanks to shipping damage, but before the side stripes were applied. Little did I know that 19 years later, I too would also be an MG Magnette owner.
Maybe I was so excited after the leisurely 1985 Ellerslie Concours, that I couldn't hold the camera still at Whenuapai...
If anyone has an email contact for historian, Doug Nye, could they please PM me? Meanwhile, have a look at this link if you remember the all conquering 'Sharknose' Ferrari.

Ray,
I tried to PM you. Hope it comes through ok.
Ken.
Thanks Ken and the other response re Doug Nye.
Just had a fright. Changed my email address on here and without checking my email, went straight in and couldn't post or see the pics! Sent an email to Steve, but then managed to confirm/verify, so all is well again. Sorry Steve.
I'm a bit ahead now with scanning and behind with uploading, but don't really want to upload too many in one go.
This negative was badly damaged, hence the weird crop. You'll notice the discolouration around the driver's elbow.
I see this was originally labelled Lotus, but I'll need to fish out the race programme - if I have one.
Not just a concours show pony (see #1664).

It's an early iteration of the Bainbridge Lotus Seven. Currently for sale as a roller on Trademe funnily enough....

Great pix of the Daimler Darts, shame they dont appear on the tracks now- like E-Types, I remember Stewart Martels gold roadster.
Yes, love the Daimler Darts (or SP250's... Dodge had the Dart name, so Daimler had to back off).
Red one above is Rob Douglas who Targa'd and raced the dark green Morgan V8.
When I first came to NZ January 1983, after a month or so, a Daimler SP250 appeared in the staff car park. The owner was our new Planning Manager who was at the next desk to me - and that was my introduction to Tony Roberts! I think that must make Tony the NZ motorsport person I have known the longest.
Stewart Martel ran the E Type at Leadfoot.

I'm not even trying to shuffle these pics around to make better variety, so as taken and in film negative order. The classes I never covered would have been when I was actively flagging as opposed to being on standby. Happy days!
Still the same meeting...
On to Pukekohe Club Circuit. Not sure of the exact date, (see Milan's posts following) other than it was after the Whenuapai 1985 meeting above - same roll of film. Not such good quality but someone may appreciate them.

Not really a motorsport pic, but taken at Rainbow's End
The NSCC team of flag marshals I hooked into, just like the Motorsport Club today, were out most weekends, and my good friends Keith and Liz Andrew were in the thick of it. Kevin, waving the start flag here, is now well known to some of you, as a keen member of the Waitemata VCC, running his MG or Wolseley Hornet special.
This was probably April 21st 1985 and I think, Riverhead, but I could be wrong, as I was still in non-diary mode.

These are the results from a sprint meeting held on the Club Circuit. I think it was held on March 31 1985. Should help you to identify some of the cars.
Thanks Milan - yet again.
Not the best pic, but possibly Paul Adams - who I have to say was such a gentleman to the marshals.

Not the sharpest of photographs unfortunately, but as I spent so much time scanning them, published for better or worse!
Great pair of Bristols post 1674!!!!!
