    The Lotus 23 b (?) is now for sale, a mere £79k. I know it's a 23, but is it a b?

Goodwood stands had several 'specials' and replicas and I merely snapped as I walked past, so some may be original cars and some may well be recreations or replicas. This I believe is a Bentley based special.

So what was the TecMec (Corvette engined) that Rod Coppins entered the 1962 and 1963 NZIGP with but did not qualify for either race?

Thanks for that Milan. On another note has anyone ever sorted out the true 250F chassis number saga?

If you can find a copy of this book, you will have what is almost certainly the best explanation of the 250F chassis number saga.

Milan, thanks, and I was wandering through TRS [ some of the archive - old stuff ] this evening and came across a thread from 2011 with Nigel Watts photos on the Maserati 250F a couple of photos with Chris Amon driving one,in more recent years, not in period.

    Thread number #188 this one " http://www.theroaringseason.com/show...-Maserati-250F "

    Cheers Guys,
    Roger

One of the reasons I was determined to get to Goodwood this year, was the celebration of BRM's 70 years. Dad was fiercely patriotic and backed ERA before the war and BRM after, and I suppose I inherited my love of both from him. Being named after Raymond Mays may also have had a lot to do with it.

The BRM parade included several cars with BRM engines in addition to examples of most models including the Hall & Hall 2021 BRM V16.

I have slowed a bit, despite a whole pile ready for uploading to TRS.

I have elected to put some photographs from my collection up for sale via the Alamy website, in the hope that I may supplement my pension! I don't expect to get rich and with almost 300 million pics offered for sale on Alamy, even a few pounds now and again helps.

It is quite a time consuming process and they have to pass Alamy's rigid QC system and be large enough (many of my older digital pics fail on that score), before being offered for sale. Rest assured that I'm not deserting TRS, but uploaded photographs on here are relatively small images.

Choosing which photographs to upload is something I'm working through, as I have to try and anticipate which photographs are saleable as opposed to ones I like.

I know that to many, the Allegro was a laughing stock, but having owned two or three, I think that their well publicised failures overlook the positives. The Allegro Estate looks as though it was designed, not just a bit of tin and a door bolted on the back, like so many others.

    Great set of Photos,
    Kev's Locost,
my Dad's Austin (A'ggro) Allegro [ he had a two tone Austin with the roof being a textured vinyl ] brought brand new from Seabrook Fowlds,
then my favourite Corvette, the 1961-62, last of the C1's with the stingray style tail.
finally the E-type .. The Corvette came out as an American answer to the XK120 .. then William Lyons came up with the " E ".

    Thanks Ray

Well spotted! Seems I spelt it wrongly though. Locost, not Lo Cost.

Uploading to Alamy has been a bit of a mission with one or two rejected as being too small, and one batch rejected because one wasn't as sharp as it could have been. I now know that I have to check them at 100% before uploading... Luckily the bazooka lens pics pass the size criteria but most pics taken with the earlier DSLR camera won't pass.

Just a comment guys, but easy enough to delete the irrelevent attachments when quoting a previous post.

Unless there is a good reason to show a specific pic again, it merely makes posts look repetitive.

Do we really need to see the same pics again and again? Easy enough just to refer to the post #?

    * It isn't too late to go back and delete the irrelevant!

Good advice Ray. I've been meaning to bring up that matter.

If you need to refer to one particular image it is easy to delete the others in the post.
