Where possible Bruce, as there are cars doing ERC & HSC, it makes sense to avoid number duplications as much as possible.
British/Euro HSC cars usually qualify for ERC, but the reverse isn't always the case. As with Alfa Trofeo, we encourage overlaps as it gives drivers the option of more races or shared drivers.

We are all about helping each other's group and last year saw the co-operation work really well.
While HMC cars numbers are not a worry for ERC we work very closely with Dale as well to stop duplications.
The historic cars in our group have priority on the numbers and the Worlsely is one of those cars.

Auckland Domain hillclimb 4th May 1997. Thanks to Len Brown's mob, where they wanted to charge HRC $5,000 for the use of it, now consigned to history. Yet the council supported the Hero (Gay) parade. Not the sharpest of pics this time so I can't blame the scanner.

Ray- thanks for this confirmation. Rex stopped racing the E-Type as he didnt want to have to put a cage/roll over in.

Whatever pictures I post on here are obviously shrunken copies of either digital or scanned images, so I don't lose anything.
Thankfully, the number of visits over the years to this thread have been substantial and if for any reason, the previously posted pictures don't reappear, then logically, I will just start another thread. I was a bit late in storing those copies in a separate directory, but certainly, all the more recent ones are logged.
Maybe we need to tip Steve a few more dollars to keep this fabulous site running so well, as without a doubt, it is an amazing resource and meeting place for enthusiasts, and not just NZ based enthusiasts either...
I have just bought Steve's Ford book - only to see a couple of my images in print of course!

Onto Pukekohe, May 18th with Kerry Bowman's Mini. Kerry was on the BMC Series Committee.
Paul Reynolds with his TR8 that was refused a CoD on spurious grounds, but a Wolseley with a 30% capacity increase wasn't. It was about this time that there was a lot of concern about the CoD system and how it was being applied.
I think this was a TACCOC practice day (when the track hire fees were affordable) August 1997.

Steve Whitren graduated from the MG Magnette to this Lotus Elan.
The Sunbeam was eventually sold to Greg Bellingham of Tracer Interiors, then raced for a while by Todd Forsyth, but from memory, it suffered with cylinder head or gasket problems.

Geoff Bonham started sponsoring the series and was instrumental in getting the series real recognition, so much so, that there are still people who call it the Leisuretime series. This car was raced whilst in Geoff's ownership, by Glen Thompson and a young upcoming driver called Ray Williams. (I wonder what happened to him?)
When Geoff was forced to retire I bought the car and trailer but the car always was for sale.
Eventually purchased by Derek Moore it then passed on to the late Stephen Harris at AES, also a series sponsor. Quite a history for a humble MGB.

I meant to ask Ken Williams at the weekend why we haven't seen the BBM Mercedes out for a while.
At this time, Andrew's XJS Jaguar still had the automatic gearbox. That a was before Walter York got hold of it...
