or is that another tread in itself!!
Yep, the Zakspeed colour scheme was pretty popular in the colonies. Allan Moffat raced an XC Falcon hardtop in 1979 in Zakspeed colours, and repainted his DeKon Monza in a similar paint scheme, although the black was replaced by dark brown.

Some taken by Martin Derbyshire of the Richards Mustang. The rest of Martins collection can be found elsewhere on here: http://www.theroaringseason.com/show...ire-Collection

Here is Richards bouncing through one of the Pukekohe chicanes during the 1976/77 season.

Same place, same race meeting, but with Tony Edmonsons Charger in behind.

Then in 1979, again at Puke. This is the Open Saloon Car series, which was run as two race events at Bay Park, Puke, and Manfeild, and all were handicap starts. Here is the Mustang at the front, now owned by George Shewiery. In behind are Graeme Addis, Jack Nazer, John Briggs, Brent Bullivant rolling past in the yellow Capri, then Leo Leonard in PDL II with its tall F5000 wing, and Richards in his Falcon hardtop.

Before any one says anything about the signwriting, there is a reason. Maybe George will tell the story one day.

Hopefully can get George to put a short story on the rebuild together, it is a credit to him and all involved, and is the real McCoy

Note the detail inside, tidy. The strap on the front frame was to stop the tent blowing away.

Awesome car for sure - one little peeve I had was the tent obstructing the opportunity to take a nice pic of it. Thats all - I cant wait to see this car run again!

I figure this is the best place to post this I had quite a long talk with George last weekend and he suggested to me seeing as some of these cars are getting a bit closer to going again , we should get together in a group to keep the interest and momentum going to perhaps at least in the interim to display them and down the road run them again, if anyone is interested or has a car please contact George or myself

"Hey Jim, this Mustang you sold me. It was a bit rougher than I thought, and I've had to do a lot of work on it. How about giving me some of my money back?"
