    Newbie

Hi All - You sure have some great stories and pictures in here. Brings back a lot of memories.I have some photos and 8mm film of going to the Grand Prix at Ardmore with my dad. I raced in Canada and American with a Mk1 Lotus Cortina
in 1966 - was on Frank Matich's team for the 1967 Can Am series. Then came back to Auckland and raced a Supercharged Mk1 Cortina at Pukeohe and Bay Park in 1968/69. I have quite a number of photos from that period and will put them up if anybody is interested and when i work out how to do it.

Thanks for welcome Rod. I will try putting a photo up - I hope it works - It's the start at Pukekohe in 1970 I think. Just for fun I wonder how clever you all are by naming all the drivers. I have the program from that race so that makes it a lot easier. Have fun.

Hey Welcome , I have been here a few months its like sort of coming home lol , a lot of past & present friends & petrol heads , I am yet to post some good pics. We have a bit on common , my big brother worked for Frank Matich F5000 on his way home from UK , had worked for Ronnie Peterson , & Freinds with James Hunt F3 while at March at Bicester. I also did a small stint with Matich operating his new wheel alignment his work shop [Tyres & Mags] where over the bridge in Cremorn North Shore. As for Lotuses , my first one was a mk 1 alloys panels etc [standard], a frame. then had two mk 's in London think I paid about 400 quid for each I removed engine & G/boxes & sent them back to Timaru, this financed my trips back to UK as well as some other cars I brought back, a 240 Z & a 350 scl merc........
