[QUOTE=Rod Grimwood;43684]Photo 3rd down is the late Nick Begavic, he was a very handy driver and also co-drove a Falcon with Dick Johnston but unfortunately the seat back broke. Remember Nick co-driving a 60 lap race at Waikaraka Park with Ron Kendall, first guy did 30 laps then race was stopped to infield for driver change and refuel. We had some laughs with Nick getting him in and out of the Mazda. Remember, doors welded up. If they did not win, they were right at the pointy end anyway.=QUOTE]
Can't imagine why the seat-back broke.
Note for BMC Boy - Sorry I haven't got a 1978 B&H programme, probably I didn't go that year. But I do have the 1979 one so just ask if your photos go that far.

[QUOTE=Milan Fistonic;43729]And here's the 1979 list.
Many thanks Milan - that's great to have.
He's struck again ! Nice work, Milan.
The interesting car on that 79 entry, is the orphan Peugeot 504 of Nick Begovic and Eric Morgan. I was curious as to the driver line up after seeing Ross' picture of it. Can anyone tell that story? 79 is the only B&H report between 75 and 82 I do not have.
im impressed with nick begovics range of co drivers. Of the top of my head he has had , derek bell, dick johnson, denny hulme. Im curious as to how he managed this
I think Nicky would spend some of his money![]()
From what I have learned of the Peugeot entries in such races, and they as a company supported to some extent the entries, I suspect they looked for good drivers at a level of expenditure that was under control. I can ask someone who will have more of an "inside" answer
was that before or after thatcher got lost?
I have done the promised research on the Pug 504. Connections with Campbell Industries have no idea why he had any connection with that entry.
