Duncan Rutherford was quite an interesting, if not eccentric character. There is a lengthy article on him in a book called (I think) "Heaps More Grady's People". Don Grady is a Nelson writer and has put out several books with similar titles to above about "characters" of the top of the South Island. He is not a motor racing writer but the article's 70 or so pages are pretty much all about cars, as the attached first page shows.

Look for it in your library or find it in the Auckland Council on-line library catalogue if you live in the area.
