Yet another set of great pics. I find it interesting to note a few 4 door BMW 200. series cars.
Thanks Rhys, glad you're enjoying the pics. Yes the BMW 1800s are a popular choice among the pre-1966 touring car brigade. I remember the first time I went to the Silverstone Classic back in the 1990s there was a two car factory BMW team competing in this class with a pair of 1800 Ti's. I thought it was a neat thing that BMW felt so proud of their racing heritage they supported a factory team in historic events. From memory, one of these cars won the race, beating the best Lotus Cortinas, Alfas, Falcon Sprints etc.
They were very dominate a few years back but the shift now seems towards the Cortins's. They were all like the blue and black chequered cars.
It may just be a strength in numbers thing Bruce, as so many Lotus Cortinas are now racing and teams are coming up with new tricks for getting more speed out of them.
Interesting there are so few Alfa's in the field though. These are always front running cars in this group.
