Found this summary of the early Mini 7 Champions in the Mini 7 News dated August 1991. It was penned by Carla Melville.
Interesting to see how many of the top drivers in this class went on to achieve success in other forms of the sport.

love 1975 with 45 minis qualifying for 30-35 spots on the grid.
thats my memory also, as i was running a mini cooper s in 73/74 and i remember running with john pearson, rex swindourne- amco mini 7, team members- were purple with gold sign writing , murray cox, lance deed-fibreglass clubman tilt front, and many others.
as we all ran together, maybe this is when the had their first individual series and grid
btw, there was also mini 7 racing at waikaraka park 1975 onwards.

Attended the inaugural meeting that set up the Mini Seven [ Mini 7 ] Association, along with a few Mini Racers, like Reg Cook.this would have been 1972 / 73 from memory, as had my car from mid 1971 to April 1974, when I got my first Sports car, the A-H Sprite
I was a non-racer but interested as ran an 850 Mini, in Trials Sprints and Hill Climbs - The Association was to be for all sorts of Mini activity but became a Racing Series which was hugely popular and with many well known drivers as seen by the above posts.
Prizegiving function at the Auckland Car Club for the 1977/78 series.
The 1977/78 Mini 7 Champion Neal Lowe with Peter Parnell.
