On the way to Laguna Seca. Weds. Aug 22. 2018.
A stop for breakfast in Los Olivos.
They had moved on before the cowboys, horses and their pick-ups showed up in town !
The town was soon back in order once the local sheriff showed up in his slick silver BMW !

In the Group 1-1947-1955 Sports Racing and GT class,
the winner was Rob Manson in a 1953 Kurtis 500S with a Dodge engine # 9c
The rest will be named by request. (My lunch break is almost up. )

The Group 6- 1966- 1972 Trans-Am race was won by a 1964 car. It was a fun race to watch and the lead changed several times but
John Hildebrand came through in his 1964 Pontiac Tempest/GTO # 49 for the win.
You can see the race results on the Laguna Seca scoring tower in the background as the Tempest comes off the track.
2nd was Jim Hague in a 1970 Boss 302 Mustang # 16 T
# 16 Mustang came 3rd

A bit of DeKon Monza.
Richard Goldsmith in a 1976 Dekon Monza # 3
Ken Epsman drove this 1976 DeKon Monza # 20
( Note the fog which delayed the start of events but allowed me time to settle in, again no crowds and close parking, all for $ 30.00 )

Bruce,
That GTA # 102 had quite a history. I hope you can read this..
Ken
Spgeti
Thanks Ken. Love the spare twin plug head sitting beside the Alfa GTA
See the big lift cam, a very short open duration, almost no wear pattern on the back side of the lobe. Guess it could be a fairly new cam.
Those heads are a very nice piece of engineering, you can see why they performed so well.
Great history ken on such a rare machine

You guys make it all so interesting so I am giving you a closer look at the 1967 GTA 1600 head.
Cheers,
Ken
Another 1967 machine with some history.
Bruce McLaren's 1967 M6A Can Am car # 4 driven by Richard Griot.
A 1972 McLaren M8 F/P # 55 A driven by Robert Kauffman rumbles by.
(Ken H photos.. )
An unusual looking entry in the GTP class was the 1982 Mirage M12-001 # 27 driven by Harley Cluxton.

I thought it was him. Thanks.
Dale.
