Brilliant! Whose is the Escort in the first photo?
Out of interest, does anyone have photos of the Rod McElrea MkIV Cortina?
The Escort is Bryce Platt

God those stubbies were horrible, how did we do such things?
Out of pure curiosity, did the 3 Victors ever race at the same meet? Dickie/Jenkins, Nazer and Lancaster?
Good question Sean. I know the Nazer and Lancaster cars ran together, and I know the Nazer and Dickie cars ran together, but not sure if all three appeared at the same event.
I just wish they had!
Dale, the mind boggles, all very well to be retro with the cars but...
Nek thing you will be dressing for Roycroft!
One of the wildest of a very wild bunch, the Ian Algie Alfetta. Note how modest the car looks in the first photo, before the huge rear wing and front spoiler appeared. But under the skin it was anything but modest, with a 5 litre V8 sat square inside the cockpit, and Ian sat where the back seat would once have been. What an exciting car, and a true example of Kiwi Ingenuity. It drew a crowd wherever it went, and still does. A real work of art and a credit to Ian's fabrication skills.
Both photos by Warwick Clayton.
So did it actually compete in that original guise?
SO that is Manfield at some stage in 1980 or 81?
Yep, thats right Sean, although not sure of the exact year.
November 1980.
