Highlands Festival of Speed Easter 2014

Haven't been on here for a while, thought I might share a few photos of the Festival of Speed at Highlands Motorsport Park at Easter. We had 3 of our Minis on display in the car show, so much was happening there, made for a really busy day! Here's a few photos of the action:

Oh yeah, I hadn't noticed that. Not good! The signage on that car is all hand painted, no decals, and I'm pretty sure its all original to when the car originally raced in 1986.

Neither does the owner of the Rover, something to do with hitting barriers/other cars after another car had deposited a large quantity of oil on the circuit.

Interesting to note that all 3 Southern Hemisphere built Group A Jaguars are out on the race tracks now, along with the Bathurst winning TWR one. Be magic to get all 4 in the same race - along with the Rover.

#59 has a heritage of a de Joux body, after that ????? From a purists point of view it's a hotrod and a very out of "period" one.

At 2.29 on this video , there is a lime glaze XA GT Coupe, could this be the ex Barry Lloyds 1978 GTX Championship winning car?

Shame to see Micheal Talbots Alfa 105 bent. That is one very nice car. Hope it has been repaired as we are due to see it here next weekend.

This could be its racing history.
Barry Lloyd was 1978 GTX Champion.
Cant have been too many Lime Glaze XAGTs with white interior in NZ.
See #73 http://www.theroaringseason.com/show...on-XAGTs/page4 for more on this car.

RE: XA GT Coupe. Chassis/Rego states it is a 72 car. RPOs were mid 73 build. Therefore not RPO....maybe RPO specs.

My last info on the Lloyd car was that it was in the SI under restoration....quite possibly this may be the car (no LH mirror, body protection mouldings, rear spoiler etc) . Looks very nice.

Wow, you might be right John! Same colour interior too. Better get your chequebook out!
