Background red car is even more my cup of tea - Costin...
It has had a long history since 1947 when it was built by Des Herrick as a speedway midget with a B4 engine. Got a Hudson Terraplane engine in 1948 then converted to a circuit car in 1950 with a Model T rear end and a Bugatti box. Then got an A40 engine when the Hudson expired, then a Singer gearbox (when Chris Amon had it) ....... and on it went with each subsequent owner "improving" it. It still has bits of the 1947 midget but not much .... a bit like grandad's axe ....

Mike Ryan in the USA has recently found this long forgotten Race Car.
He has been researching the car and has found these two pages of articles about the car !.
an excellent Cutaway of the Car in Corvette guise.
a couple of small photos of the car as found ;
From the US
That second-last pic, the sporty car, seems to have '36 to '39 Ford V8 underpinnings...
I'll have the TVR!
As I recall, the Hawaiian Special has independent suspension all round, whereas it looks to me that the other car has live axles straight from the late 30s Ford.
My newly acquired Stag.
Has been off the road and stored for the last 23 years
